EC Group provides the logistics behind Christian Aid's £12m fundraising campaign

Christian Aid Week takes place during May every year. This year it is running from 13 – 19 May and comprises a week of fundraising, prayer and action for the world's poorest people, involving a network of 4,000 local organisers, 20,000 supporting churches and 80,000 dedicated collectors.

The campaign, which for 2012 has the headline "Let's give the tools to help people in poverty out of poverty", helps to raise over £12 million each year through inspiring and empowering thousands of volunteers to go collecting door to door or to hold fundraising events in their local community.

For 2012, EC Group is handling the distribution of resources to key volunteers, a vital part of ensuring Christian Aid is able to raise this money and continue its work to help poorer communities out of poverty.

The whole campaign runs from September through to May and involves handling in the region of 6,000 orders, most of which are delivered to specific delivery dates, and around 250 pallets of material across approximately 50 different product lines.

"It's a great project to be involved in," commented Richard Pannell, Account Manager at EC Group, "and from the detailed data management processes of the initial mailing through to the large scale handling requirements of the collateral distribution, it's nice to know that what we're doing is helping Christian Aid make a difference."
